Annual Planning Committee

The Awards Committee shall determine the recipients for annual awards and scholarships that recognize the contributions consistent with the mission of NACNS. The awards include: Practice, Education, Mentor, Preceptor, Research and CNS of the Year. The new scholarship is for the novice innovator.

Focus on planning and organizing continuing education offerings such as webinars, full day programming and on-demand courses.

The DEIB Committee was formed to answer concerns from our members regarding the nature of diversity, equity and inclusion with NACNS. We administered a survey to our members which provided insight into their thoughts about DEI within the organization and gave us a starting place on which to build our mission statement. We are recommending training, soliciting diverse members, expanding awareness to CNSs who work outside the hospital and collaborating with other NACNS committees for dissemination

Future of Nursing Community

The Graduate Education Committee shall provide guidance to the NACNS Board of Directors on key issues impacting graduate programs, faculty, students and national accrediting and credentialing bodies. This committee shall ensure that current data related to the preparation of CNSs are obtained and disseminated and shall provide multiple forums for CNS educators to address issues pertinent to CNS education.

The Legislative/Regulatory Committee shall represent NACNS and respond to individual members, state and federal legislators, other professional associations and boards of nursing on national and state issues, which affect recognition, reimbursement, and practice of CNSs.

The membership committee shall provide advice to the NACNS Board of Directors on activities that can grow NACNS membership.

Community for NACNS Board of Directors

The Nominating Committee shall review the qualifications of all applicants and prepare a proposed slate for review and final approval by the Board of Directors.

This group is for Pernatal CNSs looking to discuss issues and share solutions. It is open to any NACNS member who wishes to join.

The Professional Development Committee shall identify contemporary and evolving practice issues that affect CNSs and develop related activities such as, but not limited to, practice advisories and position statements. The Practice Committee will provide advice to the NACNS Board of Directors on these issues.

The Research Committee shall conduct and/or direct research activities supporting the organization and CNS practice. NACNS will provide advice to the NACNS Board of Directors on these research needs.

The Website and Listserv Committee shall work to enhance the CNS Listserv and NACNS website and valid the NACNS website by ensuring data points and links are refreshed on a consistent basis.
