What Every CNS Needs to Know: GLP-1s, Compounded GLP-1 Medications, and SGLT-2 Inhibitors for Weight Loss and Diabetes Management This webinar has been submitted for 1.0 CE hour. Description: The use of GLP1-RAs has exploded and they are being used for a growing number of conditions. Exciting breakthroughs are being made but these breakthroughs are accompanied by side effects that have been surprising, such as dental side effects. This program seeks to provide clinical nurse specialists with an update on use of these agents and management of patients receiving them. Missy Mereda describes herself as a "nursing enthusiast" and neuroscience nurse within the Duke Health system who currently serves as the Diabetes Clinical Nurse Specialist for Duke Raleigh Hospital. Neuro is Diabetes, Diabetes is Neuro. It is all blood vessels and nerves. Missy has presented locally, regionally, nationally, internationally on various neuroscience and diabetes nursing topics and published in textbooks and journals. She is a member of several nursing organizations, serving in different capacities, currently as President-Elect of American Association of Neuroscience Nurses. She is a ABNN board trustee. She holds four 4 nursing certifications and was an inaugural team member of the SCRN test development committee. Has received the DAISY award for Extraordinary Nurses, a Duke Friends of Nursing award for Nursing education, a Great 100 Nurse of year in North Carolina, the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing Certified Neuroscience Nurse of the Year, and the Eastern Carolina University's Nursing Preceptor of the Year.
