Nursing Care of the Older Adult
| Description |
This 3 hour course is designed for nursing professionals who assess older adults, nursing support staff who assist in the collection of data to support nursing assessments, and those who teach these individuals. Atypical presentation of illness in the older adult will be addressed including operational approaches to detect and manage acute change of condition. Some areas addressed include function-focused care, oral care, medication use, pain management, sleep, and behavioral and psychosocial disorders. This course combines didactic education, case study activities and interactive activities to reinforce learning content.
This course is a jointly provided in collaboration with the National Hartford Center of Gerontological Nursing Excellence (NHCGNE).
